If Professional ASTREA FREE is a WordPress block theme designed for professional-service providers—lawyers, accountants, consultants, licensed administrative specialists, and similar practices. It is not limited to a single profession or license type.
It is not a deliberately limited "trial" built to sell a paid upgrade. The goal is a theme that can carry a real, production office website on its own, particularly for someone who has just gone independent and isn't ready to pay a web agency, but wants a properly built site.

04 / Theme & Core
ASTREA Theme and
ASTREA Core.
ASTREA is made of two parts: the "Theme" and "Core" (a free official plugin). This is the point newcomers find most confusing, so here is the short version.
- ASTREA Theme Handles design, templates, and the display foundation. Usable entirely on its own.
- ASTREA Core (recommended) The free official plugin that handles office information, professional profiles, services, pricing, and the contact form—data designed to survive a future theme change.
ASTREA Core is not required. ASTREA Theme runs safely without it. Install Core if you want to use the full set of professional-site features.

Before you install.
- WordPress 7.0 or later (tested with 7.1)
- PHP 8.3 or later (8.4+ recommended)
- ASTREA Core Optional (recommended). The Theme works on its own without it.
- License GNU General Public License v2 or later (GPLv2 or later)

Get the official release.
ASTREA is officially distributed through its GitHub Release (v1.0.2). Project-if does not mirror a separate ZIP. The "Source code" archive GitHub generates automatically near the top of the repository is not an installable WordPress package—please do not use it.

08 / Getting started
How to install.
- Download the ASTREA Theme ZIP
- In wp-admin, go to Appearance → Themes → Add New, and upload the ZIP
- Activate the theme
- (Recommended) Download the ASTREA Core ZIP, then upload and activate it from Plugins → Add New
- In ASTREA Core's Office Profile screen, enter your office name, address, and phone number
- Use the setup screen to generate the starter pages, Navigation, and HOME page
- Replace the professional profiles, services, pricing, and FAQ with your own content

No individual setup or technical support is provided with the FREE edition. Please also review the terms and disclaimer (Japanese) before use.

Is it really free?
Yes. Both ASTREA Theme and ASTREA Core are free to download and use, under the GPLv2 or later, including for commercial sites.
Is ASTREA Core required?
No. ASTREA Theme runs safely on its own. Install ASTREA Core if you want professional-site features such as profiles, services, pricing, and the contact form.
Which professions can use it?
It is not limited to a specific license or qualification. Any individual or office that provides professional expertise as a service can use it.
Does it support the WordPress Site Editor?
Yes. ASTREA is a Full Site Editing block theme—templates, patterns, and colors can be edited in the Site Editor.
Can I use it for a commercial site?
Yes. It is distributed under the GPLv2 or later, so commercial use for your office website is permitted.
How do updates work?
New versions are expected to be published as official GitHub Releases, following the usual WordPress theme/plugin update pattern.
Is support available?
No individual setup, configuration, or technical support is provided. See the included readme.txt and Project-if's WordPress Guide. Genuine product defects are handled by Project-if.
